DIDO RETURNS TO HER DANCE ROOTS FOR SEX IN THE CITY

After dabbling in some more acoustic and organic based sounds for her last album (2008’s critically acclaimed but poorly selling Safe Trip Home), British singer-songwriter Dido is dabbling in a more dance-based sound on her brand new track “Everything to Lose”, lifted from the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack.
Dido’s unique voice is still as soothing as ever on “Everything to Lose”, melding beautifully into the alt-electronica production. The song marks a return to Dido’s musical roots considering that she actually first got her break by singing on tracks for her brothers dance-electronica band Faithless.
She also incorporated various elements of the genre on her first two studio albums No Angel and Life For Rent, most notably on songs like “Take My Hand”, “Here With Me” and “Stoned”.
Dido’s fourth album is due out later this year and depending where she’s at musically I wouldn’t rule out a return to the top of the charts. Safe Trip Home may not have sold much, but her first two albums have sold well over 30 million copies combined.
