Beginner's luck?
Glee and Modern Family -- TV's new breakout hits last season -- lead the 62nd Primetime Emmy nominations, which were announced Thursday morning.
Both Fox's glee-club comedy scored 19 nominations, and ABC's family sitcom scored 14.

Among Glee's stars, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch nabbed nominations; the freshman show is also up for Best Comedy Series.
Notably snubbed: the stars of HBO's mega-hit True Blood. Although the vampire series garnered nods for Outstanding Drama Series plus writing, casting and makeup, stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were ignored by the Academy.

Up for Outstanding Comedy Series: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Glee, Modern Family, Nurse Jackie
The Office
and 30 Rock.
Joked Tina Fey (who was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series), "This is great news. We're grateful and excited. Especially since today is the fifth anniversary of the day NBC forgot to cancel us."
