Conan O'Brien Gets Late Night Show on TBS

April 12, 2010 1:10 AM

Conan O'Brien is headed back to late-night TV, but this time he'll be headlining a show on TBS.

"In three months, I've gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I'm headed to basic cable," Conan joked of his new gig in a statement Monday. "My plan is working perfectly."

Conan left NBC in January after hosting The Tonight Show for just eight months. His TBS show is expected to debut in November.

The program will air Mondays through Thursdays at 11 pm/ET. George Lopez's late-night show, which airs in that timeslot now, will be pushed back to midnight.

TBS is a surprising move for Conan, who was expected to sign on for a Fox late-night show. The timing of the announcement coincides with Conan kicking off a two-month, nationwide comedy tour in Eugene, Ore., tonight.
